Finn Print E-mail

July 2009

Here's an update from Finn's owners

Finn was very undernourished and had to wear a sweater to keep him warm when we first visited Dogs Aid to meet him. We already had a German Wirehair Pointer, Lucie, (from a shelter in the USA) who needed a friend to play with.
We took Finn home to Killiney and although he was a calm and easygoing dog, he didn't know any commands and was not fully housebroken. It took him a little while to figure it all out and Lucie was good at leading by example. Also, because of his traumatic early life, we think it took him a little longer to bond to us. Fortunately, he thought Lucie was the cat's meow and they became fast companions. Finn is also very good around our cats, which we were not sure about, since he may not have been exposed to them before.
Finn and Lucie have now moved with us to County Wexford where they not only have an acre to play on, but also are surrounded by Coillte forest where the dogs get to have a good run around every day!  He has become such a happy, well-behaved dog. He is gentle and loving, full of energy (and beans)!
